Palimpsest is available as a yearly subscription for only US$50, or AUD$50 for Australian subscribers. There is also an air mail option for US$80, or AUD$80 for Australian subscribers.
Why a Subscription?
Software can no longer stay still for very long. Users demand new features, enhancements, and fixes frequently, rather than very minor improvements every year or so, with a major upgrade every couple of years or more.
As the internet has become such an important aspect of so many software users, Western Civilisation pty. ltd. (the developers of Palimpsest) has developed a plan to provide users with constant improvements and enhancements, while lowering the price we need to charge you. Traditionally costs associated with packaging and distribution have taken up a large proportion of the total price of software. The internet changes this.
At the same time it brings us closer to our users, allowing you to have your say to the people who actually develop the software.
And a commitment to major improvements three times a year means that we have a system in place that enables us to deliver the software our users are asking for, not the software we think you want.
What do I Get?
A subscription to Palimpsest entitles you to

How do I get Palimpsest?
Western Civilisation has decided upon the Internet as its principle means of distributing Palimpsest. This allows us to provide Palimpsest at a cost far below that which would otherwise be necessary to charge, and allows us to provide timely enhancements to our users.
Once we receive your subscription request, we will send you your registration number, which acts as a password, allowing you to enter the subscribers' section of our Web Site. Here you can download the latest version of Palimpsest, as well as other enhancements to help you get the most from using Palimpsest simply by clicking links in Netscape, Internet Explorer, CyberDog or any other browser.
We'll send you complete details when you decide to subscribe.
What If I don't have full Internet Access?
Western Civilisation appreciates that not everyone has Internet access. For this reason, Palimpsest is available via airmail, on disk, as an option. To cover the significant extra cost of processing three disk mailings a year, the postal option costs US$80, or AUD$80 for Australian subscribers.
